Food is pretty good, I liked the Taiwan ramen. I like that this place has a lot of booths, gives a bit of privacy for your party.

Kagura is a very solid restaurant with great tonkatsu. Keep in mind when coming here that the portion sizes are very Japanese and less American. Kagura aims for taste and quality over quantity, so if you're super hungry, a set might not be enough. The presentation and taste of the food are both very good and definitely worth trying at least once. Protip - Kagura has its own parking on the side of the restaurant that is a little hidden.

The best Tonkatsu in town! Large selection of izakaya items too. Uni pasta, black cod are the best. We had a large group in the private room. Fantastic friendly service, very generous plates. Big selection of sake and wine. Everyone had to use take home containers for leftovers. Our favorite place for Japanese food! Thank you for the great evening!

Honestly really tasty! Even down the the salad which I could not get enough of. The katsu was fried to perfection and even the oysters were good which I was surprised about for some reason. It's a nice little place in a random area but thankfully they also have free parking if you can snag a spot!

Going to this restaurant is like being transported to Japan! The katsu is fresh and everything from their miso to pickles js legit. Came here with a group of four and on Sunday night without a reservation and we were seated right away. The restaurant is very Japanese with their sake on display and wooden walls and open seating. Our hostess and waitress were very accommodating. I was surprised at the pricing when I came at most of the Katsus are around $24-25 per dish and the meat portions aren't big, so this place isn't cheap. My partner and I shared the same sampler which was $19 for three small cups of sake. They were all great and it was a good opportunity to try some different types. The food took around 20 minutes to come out, which was a good sign as we knew it was all fresh to order. We all went with a katsu dish, I got the cheese katsu which I did not regret. The katsu was flaky on the outside and tender inside. The cheese was perfectly melted in the inside and the meat was still juicy. There is a little bit of green pepper which was nice as well. The dish came with an assortment of pickles which were all really tasty and enhanced the dish and cabbage salad, rice and miso. The miso soup was savory, umami and hearty with radish and some meat added in. The katsu sauce they have on the side is a sweet and tangy sauce that goes well with the fried dishes. Everyone else liked their dishes and they were well portioned with most of us finishing our dishes and feeling satisfied without leftovers. This place is definitely on the pricier side, but definitely cheaper than flying to Japan if you are looking for something authentic. Would go here for a special occasion or date night!

My absolute favorite Katsu I've ever ever had. Perfectly crispy. Curry is a great thickness. Both worked so well together. They gave lots of side dishes too, which is nice to get more flavors to mix together. Ambiance is great; good spot for a date night. Small parking lot, but street parking available!

Overall, a fantastic place to enjoy some phenomenal katsu. Their katsu is perfectly crisp and since the sauce tub is at the table, you can eat as much sauce as you want. I absolutely love their salad that comes with the katsu, and what makes it even better is that they have unlimited refills on the salad and rice. The servers are really nice and responsive, and the interior within the restaurant is beautifully designed. There is parking both behind the restaurant and on the street, making this restaurant a great place to stop and visit when in Torrance.

Dined here with friends for lunch. We were a party of 10 (6 adults, 4 children). There was no problem at all getting a table. They did preface that they were closing at 2 pm as we arrived at 1 pm. There was no problem. We parked at a small lot behind the restaurant. Food was amazing. The hubs got a katsu lunch special and shared it with our kiddos. I'm the masochist on a no-rice diet and opted for the creamy uni pasta (delicious btw). Looking forward to indulging in some katsu curry for my cheat meal.

Make sure to check in on Yelp waitlist/ expect a wait! Took a bit to get seated and get our food, but the food was delicious and beautifully prepared. Comes with miso soup , rice and cabbage salad with a few side dishes. The katsu sauce is sweet and umami-y and i loved the crab croquette & fillet set! Very filling though not too heavy!
